It is important to note that adding some seasonings and cooking can increase or decreate the amounts of 'harmful' things in food. We have included a comment section because there are methods to reduce certain things in foods, like soaking them in water. Please share your thoughts.

We do not include breads and cereals here because most of those items differ and list sodium and potassium on their packaging. Unfortunately, there is no law in place that requires companies to list potassium amounts in products, so always be careful with that. We strongly feel it should be a federal law to require potassium amounts be listed, since consuming too much of it for an ESRD patient can easily be fatal. We will soon create a petition page to get lawmakers to make it federal law to list potassium on all food products.
